[email protected]Saint Helen’s music ministry is an
ensemble-based program. This means that we strive to have every Mass led by an ensemble of a few musicians. Our four primary ensembles are the
Festival Chorale,
Hummingbirds, the
Sunday Evening Worship Team and the
Saint Helen Worship Band.
The Festival Chorale, under the direction of Adrian Soltys, is our adult choir open to all those 9th grade and older. We sing in 4 part harmony and sing a mix of traditional and contemporary music at the 5:00pm mass on Saturdays and all holy days.
The Hummingbirds, under the direction of Megan Soltys, is our children’s choir open to 3rd through 7th graders. We sing monthly at the 8:00am Sunday mass and other various celebrations throughout the year.
Our Festival Chorale and Hummingbirds also accept “guests” to join us for our Christmas Concert and Holy Week/Easter celebrations. This is ideal for those who cannot make a weekly commitment during the year but can commit to 5-6 rehearsals in a row to prepare for our larger events.
The Sunday Evening Worship Team provides music each Sunday evening for the 6:00pm mass. This casual group rehearses at 5:00pm on Sundays and stays through for mass. It is open to 8th graders and older. Instrumentalists and singers are welcome.
The Saint Helen Worship Band is our auditioned band which provides music for 3 liturgies a weekend. We are always seeking talented instrumentalists and worship leaders to commit to this group. Ability to read charts/sheet music is preferred.
