I am excited to announce that we are sponsoring a new adult discipleship program for women called “Walking with Purpose”. Beginning in February, all the women of the parish are invited to gather on either Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM (beginning February 1, 2024) OR Friday mornings at 9:45AM (beginning February 2, 2024). This 22-week program is divided into two 11-week sessions.
While I encourage those who want to participate to do so as much as you can, there is a rolling admission so you can join at any time. There is also enough flexibility that you can miss a session as well.
This Bible study program will focus on examining the core questions one would need to address as we look to experience authentically all that God has for us. The goal is to assist in getting priorities in order and coming to know Jesus in a more personal way.
As women meet for fellowship and connection, they will share everyday challenges in an atmosphere of acceptance for who you are: beloved daughters of God. The materials for the program cost $50. Please reach out to Ellen Murphy with any questions at [email protected] or (908) 447-8134
When we think of doing purposeful things like deepening our faith, another opportunity is to always keep our focus on serving others, a constitutive part of our parish mission statement. Sister Pat’s Kids Camp is one of our significant outreach ministries since 1985. Sister Pat’s Camp provides a weeklong camping program for children afflicted with cancer and other related blood disorders.
The camp’s mission is to help children explore their interests through sports, the arts and the outdoors while providing for their health-related needs. To help sustain the ministry, a raffle is held every year. We will kick off the raffle ticket sales next weekend, February 3-4, 2024. Our goal is to sell 1500 tickets. Please consider purchasing tickets.
Sr. Pat’s Kids Camp has brought so much joy and assistance to so many children and their families for the past 38 years. While I hope you will all purchase a ticket, give some consideration to other ways that you might be able to make the experience of Sr. Pat’s Kids Camp as full as possible for the children, maybe making/donating a snack for the kids, sponsoring/running an activity that might be part of their week, or anything. Any ideas are welcome.
Perhaps you might also want to volunteer at the Camp and experience its profound impact firsthand. This year, the Camp will take place from Sunday, July 21, 2024 through Saturday, July 27, 2024. Let’s see if we can make this one the best one ever.
God Bless You,
Msgr. Tom
