Msgr. Tom’s Weekly Note – 11/16/23

Last weekend, we observed Veterans Day, a time to acknowledge, remember and salute all of our veterans, those who served the country in war or peace. With the deepest gratitude, honor, and respect, we recognize all those who have served our country, past and present. It is with a huge “thank you” that we honor all veterans for their sacrifices.

While we remember and pray for all our veterans, let us pray for our wounded veterans in a special way. Thank you, Veterans! We have our freedom because of you, your sacrifices and we will always be grateful.’

We recently asked for volunteers to donate turkeys and all the fixings for Thanksgiving Dinners for those in need. We also asked for our parishioners to adopt a family and provide Christmas gifts for those less fortunate than ourselves.

As is so characteristic of our Saint Helen family, the response has been both overwhelming and heart touching. Thank you for your generosity to those who would otherwise have to go without. And thank you for all your commitment to deliver the Thanksgiving Boxes and Christmas gifts. You never cease to amaze me.

We know being new anywhere can be challenging; so, we thought this would be a nice way to make those who are new feel warmly welcomed, another fine characteristic of our Saint Helen family.

God Bless You All,

Msgr. Tom
