Msgr. Tom’s Weekly Message – January 18, 2023

This week, we honor Martin Luther King Jr. It’s a time to celebrate the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. His words were inspiring, but they were more than just words. He lived a life fighting for freedom and justice. King had a positive impact on the world because he demonstrated peace in the face of violence, and was inspirational because he exemplified resilience and courage in his fight against injustice.

As King said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” The power of this idea is that despite the inevitable challenges and difficulties we will face as a country, if we have hope in our hearts for a better future, we will be able to get through tough times on the journey towards it. Let us continue to practice some of what he lived as we continue to learn from his life and practices.

God bless you,
Msgr. Tom
