Dr. Mike Aquilina

Theme: St. Joseph and His Work

Bio: Mike Aquilina is author or editor of more than fifty books, including The Fathers of the Church, The Mass of the Early Christians, and Angels of God. He has co-authored books with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dion DiMucci, theologian Scott Hahn, and singer-songwriter John Michael Talbot, among others. His works have been translated into many languages, from Hungarian and Portuguese to German and Braille. The Grail Code has appeared in ten languages since its publication in 2006.

Mike has co-hosted eleven thirteen-week series that air on the Eternal Word Television Network. He is solo host of two feature-length documentaries. He appears weekly on radio’s “Sonrise Morning Show” and is a frequent guest on other TV and radio shows. For many years he was a panelist on “The Weekly Roman Observer,” a news-commentary program on Catholic Familyland Network.

He and his wife, Terri, have been married since 1985. Their six children are the subject of his book Love in the Little Things. Their growing number of grandchildren are much loved.

Rev. Donald Calloway

Bio: Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, a convert to Catholicism, is a member of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Before his conversion to Catholicism, he was a high school dropout who had been kicked out of a foreign country, institutionalized twice, and thrown in jail multiple times. After his radical conversion he earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, M.Div. and S.T.B. degrees from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC, and an S.T.L. in Mariology from the International Marian Research Institute in Dayton, Ohio. Fr. Calloway has written many academic articles and is the editor of two books: The Immaculate Conception in the Life of the Church (Marian Press, 2004) and The Virgin Mary and Theology of the Body (Marian Press, 2005). He is also the author of seven books: Purest of All Lilies: The Virgin Mary in the Spirituality of St. Faustina (Marian Press, 2008), No Turning Back: A Witness to Mercy (Marian Press, 2010), Under the Mantle: Marian Thoughts from a 21st Century Priest (Marian Press, 2013), Marian Gems: Daily Wisdom on Our Lady (Marian Press, 2014), Mary of Nazareth: The Life of Our Lady in Pictures (Ignatius Press, 2015), Rosary Gems: Daily Wisdom on the Holy Rosary (Marian Press, 2015) and Champions of the Rosary: The History and Heroes of a Spiritual Weapon (Marian Press, 2016)

Shoe Drive: March 19th to May 1st

Many adults cannot be accepted for some jobs because they do not have the proper work shoes. During the period between the 2 feast days of St. Joseph we will be collecting new shoes or sneakers for both men and women. These shoes/sneakers will be distributed in Elizabeth, Plainfield, and Newark to those who need them. They may be dropped off at the Parish Center, Monday through Friday between 9 and 5.

Diaper Drive

We will be collecting baby items during the month of May. Some suggestions are:

  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Wipes
  • Baby Lotion
  • Soap
  • Wash cloth/towels
  • Undershirts
  • Baby Blankets
  • Bottles
