Volunteer Ministers

Our Religous Ed Ministers are a vital part of our  programs.  Please consider answering God’s call to this ministry.  All Religious Ed Ministers will need to complete a Protecting God’s Children workshop and  a volunteer application which permits the parish to do a criminal background check.  We will assist you with this process.

Beginnings

Year 1

Beginnings Year 1, the first year of our Sacrament Preparation, is the start of your child’s formal faith formation in the Church and of a lifetime of learning about and living for Christ! Beginnings Sessions are faith-filled, engaging, multi-sensory, intentional and fun! Using faith-based manipulatives, puzzles, Bible stories and videos, the children pray together, sing songs of worship, learn about the Mass and the liturgical calendar, and more.

The format is as follows:
– One in person session a month
– One at home lesson emailed per month
– Weekly wrap-up of session
– Additional special events

Blessed

Year 2

Through visually stunning animation, workbooks that are works of art, and incredible content, our Blessed sessions lead children, step-by-step, to where God is calling them to be as they prepare to receive two Sacraments! Blessed sessions will consist of:
– Two in person sessions a month
– Weekly wrap-up of sessions
– Additional special events
– Blessing Cup Retreat

Sessions follow a large group format with small group breakout sessions built in. Parents working together with our Religious Education program will prepare children who complete two years of faith formation to receive First Reconciliation in January and First Holy Communion in the spring.

Grade 3 and 4

The Grades 3 and 4 program will focus on the life, mission, and saving work of Jesus Christ, helping to lay the foundation for a lifelong relationship with Jesus. Faith into practice activities and questions, prompt children to relate knowledge of our faith with their life experience so they can apply the many ways we worship, live, pray, and serve together as Catholics.

The format of this program has had some changes.  The format is:
– One large group session per month
– One at-home lesson emailed per month
– Special events and speakers
