Msgr Tom in Church

All are welcome to join us in Celebration for our Pastor’s 30th Anniversary!

Saturday, May 21st (6:45 – 9:00 pm) for a light reception

Sunday, May 22 (9:00am – 11:30am) for Hospitality Breakfast

To commemorate this special event, the Anniversary Committee is creating a souvenir journal. We hope you will convey your best wishes to Msgr. Tom in the journal, which will benefit St. Joseph Social Service Center in Elizabeth.

Msgr. Tom began serving as a weekend associate at our parish in 2014, celebrating liturgies and participating in a variety of parish activities. He was named pastor of Saint Helen in June 2020 and welcomed wholeheartedly by a grateful parish community who had grown to know him well and appreciate his many gifts.

As pastor, Msgr. Tom oversaw the completion of our beautiful new church and led a series of dedication events in March 2021 for parishioners, as well as community leaders, to mark the church’s opening and reinforce our parish’s mission.

In addition, Msgr. Tom has worked tirelessly to restart programs and activities that were suspended during the COVID pandemic. Our parish picnic, Christmas concert, Kids Corner, the ChristlifeTM series, Cornerstone retreats—all these and more have resumed under his leadership to make Saint Helen a vibrant worshipping community. He also has supported and encouraged the start of new ministries, such as Catholic Families Connect, a faith-based social group for families with young children.
